First two weeks in Hannover

Well, Michael and I have been in Hannover for almost 2 weeks. I can't believe it!! Things have been going pretty good. The first week we were here, we both went to orientation to get all the paperwork done, and explored the city as much as we could. We have learned that we really need to learn German (most people only speak a little English) and for the most part how to get to most of the important places. We don't have a car, so we travel everywhere on the bus or the tram system here which is very good!! It can pretty much get us anywhere in the city. It does make grocery shopping hard, though. I have to carry everything I buy back to my apartment which can be a long walk or tram ride, either way the groceries get pretty heavy after awhile. We have made several friends from Michael's school, which has been nice to have other people to explore with and who understand what we are going through.

Michael had his first week of classes this week, and so far I think he likes it. It will, however, keep him very occupied, which leaves me with a lot of free time. But I end up having to go to the grocery store almost everyday, mostly because we don't have a freezer and I have to buy everything fresh, and I can only carry so much at a time. Other than that, I'm trying to learn some german and still exploring the city. So, everything so far has been quite an adventure. We have been having a lot of fun!!
